TIS is a national Membership organisation, leading in the development of innovative tenant participation and community engagement practice in Scotland. With over 200 tenants/housing organisation Members, the organisation is committed to influencing change and strive for an active, inclusive, and just Scotland, with strong, equitable, and sustainable communities.
TIS are seeking motivated individuals to join the Board, become an ambassador for the organisation and help build on their success for the future. Board Director opportunities are available to landlord organisations who are a Member of TIS to sit alongside 8 tenant, resident and community group representatives.
The TIS Board are responsible for providing leadership, monitoring performance, and agreeing the strategic direction of the organisation. Meetings are held 6 weekly and Board members will also be required to attend additional Committee meetings, a strategic planning day, full induction, and on-going training opportunities.
There are a variety of benefits that you can gain from becoming a TIS Board Director including working with new and interesting people, taking part in new challenges, and gaining experience to assist your personal and career development.
Although this is a voluntary position, Board members are reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.
