New in 2017, the Tenants Information Service (TIS) can now offer 4 Board Director opportunities to landlord organisations who are a member of TIS and 8 tenant, resident and community group representatives who are a member of TIS to join the TIS Board.
As a national membership organisation, TIS promote excellence in tenant, resident, and community involvement. The organisation promotes independent advice and training to support tenants and landlords to work together to improve housing services, standards, and communities.
TIS are seeking motivated individuals to join the Board, become an ambassador for the organisation and help build on their success for the future.
The TIS Board are responsible for providing leadership, monitoring performance, and agreeing the strategic direction of the organisation. Meetings are held 6 weekly and Board members will also be required to attend additional Committee meetings, a strategic planning day, full induction, and on-going training opportunities.
There are a variety of benefits that you can gain from becoming a TIS Board Director including working with new and interesting people, taking part in new challenges, and gaining experience to assist your personal and career development.
Although this is a voluntary position, Board members are reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.
