TIS work with the Scottish Government, Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR), and key decision-makers to influence national housing policy, legislation and practice. We conduct research and develop practice materials to inspire best practice within the rented sector.

We work to ensure our members’ views are heard to shape and influence housing and community learning and housing policy. Our work includes:

  • Good Practice Framework for Tenant Participation in Scotland in collaboration with the University of Glasgow

  • Scrutiny framework
  • How-to guide to deliver effective tenant scrutiny
  • Practice guide to deliver effective rent consultations

We work in partnership with the housing sector to drive forward standards in the social rented sector. Partnerships include:
