TIS ‘After the ARC’ Conference Proved to be a Valuable Event

As part of the national TIS Scrutiny ‘Making It Happen’ Programme, over 70 tenants, housing staff, Elected Members and Board Members gathered in Glasgow last week for the sell-out After the ARC; Reporting to Tenants Conference.

The informative and participative programme included:

–          A Key Note Address from Lesley Kerr, Head of Charter Development, Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) outlining the responsibilities of landlords to involve and report to tenants on the Annual Report on the Charter.

–          A presentation from Angela Currie, Scottish Housing Best Value Network (SHBVN) detailing the key information landlords must consider in developing their Charter Customer Report.

–          Information from Blackwood and West Lothian Council on their experience to date of reporting to tenants.

–          Workshops to consider practical ways and approaches to involving and reporting to tenants.

Delegates have fed back to TIS that they found it a valuable day and came away with plenty of information and advice to assist with the preparation and development of their report for tenants following the Annual Report on the Charter. Lee Herron, Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership commented “Overall it was a useful day, and it was good to hear the views and experiences of others.”

The presentations from the event are now in the members-only area of the TIS website, at www.tis.org.uk. As a member of TIS, you will have access to this area as well as discounted rates for the TIS Scrutiny ‘Making it Happen’ Programme.
