EIC Capacity Building Programme

Committed to improving housing in Scotland, for the better TIS was delighted to launch a free capacity building programme in Glasgow for tenants, residents, scrutiny, and community groups who work in partnership with their landlord to influence decisions and shape housing and wider community services.

The programme nurtures the growth of skills, knowledge, and confidence to ensure communities are at the heart of engagement and participation practices, and is a key output of the TIS Engage Influence Change (EIC) project which aims to empower communities to become more involved in the social, economic, and cultural life of Glasgow.

Tailored to suit your specific needs, the EIC programme will focus on nurturing the skills, knowledge, and confidence of your tenant, resident, scrutiny, or community group to ensure effective solutions are in place to enable communities to play an active role in shaping housing services:

The programme will be delivered in-house by our expert team. TIS will harness the specialist knowledge and experience within our organisation to create a bespoke experience.

Four housing organisations, in partnership with their tenant, resident, scrutiny, or community group from across Glasgow will be selected to take part in the programme.

The programme will be delivered over a period of non-consecutive, 10 half days.

Organisations who are successful in their application must commit to completing the programme within 6 months.

The support that you apply for must be specific to building on the skills, knowledge, and confidence of the tenant, resident, scrutiny, or community group that your housing organisation works in partnership with. This can include, but is not limited to:

How to deliver tenant-led inspections; mystery shopping exercises; and self-assessments.

How to write a comprehensive tenant scrutiny report.

How to use benchmarking and performance information.

How to approach your next tenant participation or scrutiny project.

Exploring effective engagement, consultation, and participation practices.

Exploring digital participation opportunities and a blended approach.

Exploring initiatives to involve young people.

Developing tenant skills, confidence, and knowledge.

Developing communication skills.

Developing an understanding of value for money.

We are thrilled to develop the EIC capacity building programme that will enhance the resilience of the diverse and flourishing communities within Glasgow.

The model will empower communities to identify and deliver solutions that meet their needs and provide a platform to play a meaningful role in improving services and standards
