Chair of TIS Board shortlisted for the Lifetime achievement in housing

 

The TIS team is delighted to announce that Alice Bovill – Chair of the TIS Board, has been once again recognised for her dedication and hard work in the Scottish social housing sector and has been shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement in Housing Award at the Housing Heroes Awards 2024.

We would like to congratulate Alice for this incredible achievement. This marks Alice’s second award nomination this year, as she was also recently shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the AICO | HomeLink Community Awards 2024.

A true inspiration, Alice Bovill, has served a remarkable 28-years on the Tenants Information Service (TIS) voluntary Board of Directors. Dedicating her time to effecting positive change across the Scottish social housing sector and contributing to the national housing agenda to no end, Alice first held the position of Treasurer with the organisation, before being appointed Chairperson in 2016.

Alice Bovill is the Chair of St. Mary’s Association of Tenants and Residents, in Dundee. She is best known within her local area, for supporting the local people to secure a £1million community centre for the St. Mary’s area.

Alice Bovill was awarded the British Empire Medal in 2013, for her voluntary involvement over many years with around a dozen organisations, and received the Dundee Citizen of the Year in 2010, for her tireless work, to protect vital tenants’ rights and improve housing and wider community services.

TIS is proud that Alice Bovill has been shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement in Housing Award, and would be absolutely thrilled to see her recognised for her exceptional commitment, to the Scottish social housing sector, that spans almost 30-years.
