National Housing Conference programme update: Study visit to Queens Cross Housing Association’s Hamiltonhill Development

The Hamiltonhill Development by Queen’s Cross Housing Association (QCHA) is a significant regeneration project aimed at transforming the Hamiltonhill area in Glasgow. This development is part of the wider effort to revitalise urban spaces and improve housing options in the city.
Overview of the Hamiltonhill Development
.

The Hamiltonhill Development is Queens Cross Housing Association’s contribution to the Glasgow Canal Regeneration Partnership, which is a partnership between Glasgow City Council, Scottish Canals and other local agencies to deliver the Canal Action Plan, a new vision of the north west of Glasgow.

The Hamiltonhill Development will see around 670 new homes built, providing a mix of low-rise flats and terraced housing, with over 350 for sale and 320 for social rent spread through the neighbourhood. These new homes range in size from one-bedroom flats to larger family houses with up to four bedrooms.

As part of the Hamiltonhill development the Association will create five new parks and open spaces, bringing attractive open, green spaces and play parks to the area. The open spaces are part of a project that the Association is working on with NatureScot, Glasgow City Council and other partner organisations to deliver green infrastructure projects that will provide many benefits for local communities, helping to unlock economic potential and creating better places to live and work in.
