Kirstie joins the TIS team from NEC Digital and Snook, where she worked in User Research focusing on prioritising the needs and experiences of how people use a service or product. Specialising in recruiting research participants and ensuring research projects were carried out efficiently and to high ethical standards, she worked on projects for clients in local and national government, charity and healthcare sectors.
Before this Kirstie worked in the social housing sector, where she spent ten years in varied roles including housing management, repairs, projects and most recently in tenant engagement and participation as well as completing an MSc in Housing Studies at the University of Glasgow.
On her appointment, Kirstie said:
I’m delighted to be joining the team. I’ve attended TIS events and worked on projects with TIS in the past and have always admired how the organisation champions tenants’ voices, ensuring their views are at the heart of decision-making while also supporting housing organisations to strengthen their participation and engagement practices.
I see lots of parallels between my last role in research and user centred design and tenant participation so TIS is the perfect place to explore this further!
I’m really looking forward to getting to know and work with TIS members to understand what their priorities are and how I can support them in my Communications Officer role.
As Communications Officer, Kirstie joins the core team at TIS, based in Glasgow and will focus on membership engagement, planning and promoting TIS events and will be the main point of contact for any member queries. Members can expect to hear from Kirstie soon as she will be reaching out to say hello and get to know the community.
